A little Less Routine

Between all the shows travel and random calls for last minute gigs and pulling in random hours I found that I keep my insanity, some may say that I am still insane.  I realized I needed a little routine to feel stable or lack of better term “balanced”. I figured it out for me I do yoga regularly, about 5 years ago I found my OM at Luna Yoga studio, I eat the same breakfast everyday no matter what time of day it is (fruit and granola / cereal),  I rock climb with Heather at Alley Up seems like Tuesday rock clubs are the new thing and I do daily routines such as read, journal and chat with friends. For groceries and shopping routines I have my favourite places like PA on Parc, but it’s important that I never stick to a plan and always keep my grocery list in my wallet that way I do them when I can. Often when I plan to do that personal task on a day that time gets eaten up by a last minute requests to design or edit or prep for a new show.

I always grew up knowing that I wasn’t a fan of routine, because I had felt a feeling attached to weekdays. I felt a feeling of a Sunday knowing that I had to go back to work Monday (even if I liked my job *sometimes), the feeling of mid week and the feeling of a Friday. I wanted to kind of ride a wave connect to what life felt like as a child when I did not understand the ins and outs of a work week. I lingered to the unconventional life where I would have to adapt to whatever life brings me that day. One of my Professor’s said it best on day one of my Television Broadcasting program at Algonquin College, he said “Don’t expect a 9-5 in this career choice”. I am so far from.
